How does Tech Butler trouble shoot issues?
Our goal is to repair all issues as fast as possible while keeping the cost down for our customers. We begin all repairs with secure virtual. 85% of our repairs are done this way and are completed within 60 minutes of creating a work order. If we can't repair issue virtually we use our onsite technicians to complete an online assist to get the machine back online so we can repair virtually—Typically completed within 24 business hours of creating support ticket. If we don't meet these service levels you receive 1 FREE service unit.

How do you charge so little for a service call?
Tech Butler's unique membership model is designed to save you money each time you have an on-site visit. We leverage technology to deliver most repairs via secure virtual support. We have a secure billing system that drives down our back end costs.

How long is a support session?
A virtual support session is 30 minutes in length, with a one unit minimum. Each additional block of service time is charged in 30 minute increments. An onsite support session is also 30 minutes in length. There is a 2 unit minimum charge. They are also charged in blocks of 30 minutes.

Are there any trip charges?
No, the support charge is all inclusive. There is a 2 unit minimum for onsite service.

What happens if the service call takes longer?
Multiple units of service will be charged in 30 minute increments.

What is Secure Virtual access?
We refer to this as a Virtual Butler. With your permission, you allow our technicians access to your computer from the Tech Butler office. The technician operates just as if they were sitting in front of your computer. Now you can watch them from your chair instead of over their shoulder. The charge for Secure Virtual Access is $15 for 30 minutes.

What is the difference between a membership and a warranty?
A warranty provides specific repairs for specific devices. A Tech Butler membership is all inclusive for your devices and the technical support to make them all function properly and in harmony. Tech Butler also offers network support and technology upgrades for our members.

How many devices are covered and what constitutes a device?
Each membership covers a different number of devices. Residential covers unlimited devices in your home. See website for details. Commercial also support unlimited devices include smart phones, Ipads, tablets, desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, routers, wifi, data back up, and servers.

What all is included in a service call?
The diagnosis and tech support of almost any software issue for virtual butler. For on-site we can offer tech support on hardware issues as well.

What do you charge for parts?
We don't charge for parts. We also don't purchase them. For the cost of 1 virtual butler unit we will send you a detailed list of the top 3 items that our technicians recommend for you at that best possible price we can find. This saves you time and money on parts. We can save you dramatically on parts by sending you links to the best price available without a markup.

Can I get computers from you?

What are technology upgrades?
Technology upgrades are typically when your devices approach end of life and no longer meet your needs. Tech Butler will survey your equipment and your technology needs to give you options for technology upgrades that you may not have ever considered.

How do I request a service call?

How do I cancel a service call?
You may cancel a service call with a minimum of 24 hours' notice straight from our website or by calling our office at 888-696-3731. Extension 0. Any shorter and you will be charged for a rescheduled or missed onsite service call.

When should I replace my computer?
Everyone is different based on use and need; however the typical useful life of a computer is 3-4 years. We can assist with data migration from the old machine to the new machine. We can also help with repurposing the old machine to a new use.

Do you offer technology consulting as a service call?
Absolutely, we recommend that you call us once a quarter for general maintenance and talk to us about what you would like to do with technology to improve your quality of life or improve your professional effectiveness.

How do I cancel my membership?
Memberships must be cancelled 30 days prior to renewal date by calling (888) 696-3731 X333 and following the instructions. You must complete this process 30 days prior to renewal date. No refund will be given if not followed. We reduce the costs by fully automating the process.

How long are Memberships?
1st year memberships are prorated to the 1st of the month you join in. A credit is given for the initial month, and then the remaining days in the month plus 11 months are charged upon joining. All renewal memberships are 365 days in length. Your membership date is detailed in your joining email.

Are memberships taxable?
No, memberships and tech support calls are not taxable.

When am in invoiced?
Each member has a payment method on file. An email invoice is generated and sent with any charges incurred.

How often can I use your service?
You may use our services as much as you desire. Most residential members use 4 units a year, Small Office members use 8 units and Corporate users typically use 15 units. Feel free to call as often as you have issues, big or small. We do have a fair use policy, but we have never use it.

Do you repair printers/copier/scanners?
We repair network connections, installing drivers, and scanning. We do not work on the inner workings of the printer/copiers.

How does your service work?
Anytime you are experiencing a computer problem or even just want to ask us a question, you can call (888) 696-3731 x2 and a live technician will connect to your computer (with your approval, of course). The technician can then virtually access your computer to solve the problem or answer any questions you might have. You can actually sit at your computer and watch what we do if you're interested. It's all on the screen.

Can you look at the files on my computer?
Can we? Yes. Do we? No. Just as if you would drop your computer off at a computer repair shop, we have access to your whole computer. However, we respect our client's privacy and only access what we need to fix. Everything we do is kept with the utmost confidence. We don't read or open files we only fix problems.

What requirements does my computer need to have?
High-speed Internet with a minimum of 256Kb/s Up and 256Kb/s Down in good working order, such as a DSL or cable connection and also Windows 7, Vista, XP, MCE or Tablet Edition. You must also have access to an Admin account on the PC.
